About Us
Education for Sustainability
How we started
Education for Sustainability CLG is a non-profit social enterprise laying the foundation for a more sustainable future for all through climate education and action.
Founded by Susan Adams in 2017, Education for Sustainability is a direct response to Ireland’s escalating climate crisis and the critical gap in action-based climate education.
With a background in zoo animal and aquarium management, Susan’s deep connection to the natural world shaped her commitment to empowering individuals—particularly young people—to develop an ethical relationship with the environment.
Education for Sustainability was founded with the mission to inspire awareness, foster knowledge of sustainability issues, and encourage actions that promote a sustainable future for our planet.
Our beliefs
We believe education is the foundation to unearthing the solutions the world needs to sustain both people and planet.
We help bridge some of the gaps that exist around climate literacy education by delivering engaging and action-oriented climate literacy programmes for primary and post-primary schools, professional development and support for educators and school management, climate action initiatives in schools and communities, and sustainability workshops for businesses.
Working together with educators and community leaders, we are creating a ripple of impact. Extending out from our schools to households to communities to businesses to create meaningful societal change.
Our Vision
To build solid foundations for a more sustainable future for all through education and action.
Our Mission
To create a brighter future by providing climate literacy knowledge and tools throughout our schools, communities and businesses.
