8-Week Teacher Training
The programme will be delivered in-school through a team-teaching teacher training lens, for the 8-week modular structure that fits the transition year programme. On completion of the module the teacher will have the knowledge and course content to deliver the programme.
The programme has a blended learning approach; the students will engage in game methodologies and activities in school that will be enhanced through an online learning platform that transforms the lessons into activities after each weekly workshop.
Online Learning Platform
The online learning platform uses action-based problem-solving strategies delivered in 3 parts:
Messages and notifications that encourage students to engage in the process
The student then takes action and submits this proof of learning.
Feedback is sent.
Each weekly topic has a bite-sized ‘mission’, meaning an action must be done to move to the next level on the online platform. Combining knowledge and action with a blended learning approach provides the student with an effective learning experience that helps to establish lasting behaviour change.
Facilitator visits a school weekly for a double-period for 8-weeks. The teacher is trained to deliver the module in class with students; students sign up to the online workbook. On conclusion of the 8-weeks, a new group of students rotate into the module, the facilitator goes to another school and the teacher will teach the programme to the new-group. This group will sign up to the workbook.
